Chantel Boudoir {Edmonton Boudoir Photographer}

We talk a lot about boudoir being the perfect gift for your spouse – maybe a wedding present, for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, birthday, etc. but we never talk about boudoir being a gift for… yourself.

Did you just gasp in shock? I did.

“Do it for myself, Katie? Isn’t that… wrong? Doesn’t that make me needy or attention seeking?”

Have you ever seen the episode of Sex and the City where Samantha gets nude photos taken of herself then frames the photo and hangs it in her house?! (I needed to underline that part just so you really got the weight of what I was saying typing.) If that doesn’t say, “fierce” I don’t know what does.

This beauty went through a tough break recently and felt really down on herself. It was my absolute pleasure to prove to her that a) she is stunning b) she is desirable (I mean, look at that tush!) and c) she is a fierce as hell, badass woman!

Boudoir isn’t necessarily about being sexy for someone. Often, it is about being sexy for yourself. Self-confidence and happiness comes from within but sometimes it helps to have a little push in the right direction.

Now, listen to Auntie Katie and repeat after me:

Just because I am not desirable for {insert your ex’s name} does not mean I am undesirable period.

Motherhood does not strip me of womanhood.

Womanhood isn’t weak. I am not weak.

Wanting to feel sexy doesn’t make me vain.

I deserve to feel beautiful.

I am entitled to feel special.

I am in control of myself.

Feel better? Good. Take a deep breath and do it again.

I mean it.

SAY IT AGAIN – say it until you believe it because, girl, you need to own it – no one can do it for you. My amazing makeup artists and I can produce beautiful images for you – but you wont see the beauty unless you believe you are worthy enough.
