…But I can help you on your journey.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the truth of the matter is: I can’t fix the way you feel about yourself. I can’t undo the last 25, 35, 45, 65 whatever years of self-loathing you have inflicted on your body. I can’t rewind time and tell you to stop talking to yourself that way. I would love to, but I can’t.
I would love to tell you that a boudoir or beauty shoot will be the magic wand you need to fix your problems. But I can’t.
I would love to tell you that you will come out looking like Heidi Klum. But I can’t.
Because she is not you.
I can tell you that some part of you will be forever changed. You will walk out of my studio feel elated, nervous even, but most definitely beautiful.
I can tell you that my stylist and I will do our damnedest to help bring the best you forward into this world.
I can show you something you have never seen before.
I can show you some lost part of you that you forgot existed:
the amazing mother,
the beautiful wife,
the loving daughter,
the intelligent success,
the creative soul,
the spirited mess,
the passionate lover,
the wonderful cookie baker,
the Beyoncé bootie shaker,
the nurturing gardener,
the hairbrush karaoke singer,
the kind churchgoer,

Let me reiterate: I can’t change the way you see yourself but I can help you on your journey.
One last thing: To all the women that have told me their stories. Thank you.
For all the women reading this thinking, “this is my story…” I would love to hear it. Genuinely. Feel free to flip me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me how you came be to you.
