A few months ago one of my friends introduced me to Chickakoo Lake. It is out by Stony Plain and only about half hour outside the city. It was so gorgeous and quaint that I knew when Sarah and Andrew requested their engagement photo shoot at a lake location, it would be perfect.
As you all know by now, my photography style is very passionate and romantic. I like my couples to make-out amidst a gorgeous landscape while I click away. Sometimes the best photos are the ones that happen in between the moments and those are often my favourite. As are the ones where they are gazing into each other’s eyes all Disney-princess like then they start laughing at each other because, who actually does that in real life?
Then I like to add in my handy dandy wind maker – my husband and an old Ikea cutting board – for some extra movement to the hair and clothes to really create that flowy, dreamy look. The messier the hair, the better!
Sarah and Andrew’s engagement photos turned out stunning. The sunset glow off the lake really added to the beauty of the images. I just love how the orange glow plays with Sarah’s hair and Andrew just looks so blissfully happy. I mean, how could he not? Sarah wore a gorgeous, wine and black lace dress from H&M. Babelicious.
